Sypnosis :

In 2009, the small town of Cohasset, Massachusetts was rocked with tragedy. A 17-year-old high school senior named Collin Mason murdered three classmates. All the murders were videotaped and uploaded to the Internet via bit torrent sites and for three days, the world viewed the murders of these three innocent teens. 

Through legal action, the parents of the victims were able to remove all footage from the Internet and the town tried to save face by pretending it never happened. Bootleg copies of this footage are still passed around and downloaded through illegal means. The impact of this video is still being felt in Cohasset today. The video has become infamous, and is now referred to as The Cohasset Snuff Film.

The Film itself is a found footage film directed by independent film maker Edward Payson, the film is structured in a documentary style and focuses on the serial killer Colin Mason, A resident of Cohasset who is plotting out various murders of which he blogs on his video camera, even filming the murders that happen in real time before uploading his creations to the internet. The main question behind this documentary is, is the footage real or not, only you can decide that as the murder footage  especially is some of the most disturbing footage I’ve ever seen as you physically watch the life being drained out of someone, If that is acting then someone needs an oscar!

You slowly watch as Colin becomes more and more insane, you can physically see him descending into madness as the hunger to kill takes over and possesses his every thought. A look into a serial killers mind and something that blows the horror genre wide open.
This film is sure to cause some controversy, rumor has it the residents of Cohasset tried to ban this film as it would cause an uproar in their town, are they afraid of ruining a towns reputation or is it something deeper than that?  The Cohasset Snuff Film is out very soon just in time for Halloween and I personally thought it was superb not only for an independent but leaves the question in your mind as to if you’ve just witnessed a selection of real murders or very convincing acting. So keep your eyes peeled and only you can decide if this film is the real deal or not.
